Do you need an apostille on your U.S. Passport?

In order to apostille your U.S. Passport, you will either need to mail in the original to our Washington DC office or you can have a color copy signed and notarized in the State you are currently in.

For example, if you are located in the State of New York, you can either mail in the original to our Washington DC office or meet with a local notary in NYC and have the color copy signed and notarized. If you choose the latter, you can then download our New York Apostille order forms and mail in your documents to our NYC office for processing. Please note that your New York notarized passport will receive a New York Apostille.

If you decide to mail in your original U.S. passport to our Washington DC office, we recommend that you ship your documents by FedEx or UPS. Our full time receptionists are available Monday – Friday from 8am to 5pm to receive and sign for your package. Please note that our call center is open from 8am to 7pm Monday-Saturday. All passport received at our Washington DC office are kept in a secure and locked office.

U.S. Passports received at our Washington DC office are processed through the Secretary of D.C. (Washington DC Apostille). The estimated processing time is currently 1-2 business days. We also provide UPS/FedEx overnight return shipping within the United State at no additional cost. This ensures that your documents are protected and entrusted with a reputable shipping company with online tracking information.

Washington DC Apostille

Do you need Washington DC Apostille services?

Documents issued by the Secretary of D.C. and the U.S. Federal Government can be processed through our Washington D.C. office. For example, FBI background checks, FDA documents, Certificate of Naturalization, IRS form 6166 are processed through the U.S. Department of State. A birth, marriage, and death certificates issued from the District of Columbia are processed through the Secretary of D.C.

In certain situations, we may need to present your documents to the US Department of State in order to determine if they will accept them. If not, we may be able to process your documents through the Secretary of D.C. An example would be a U.S. passport and Social Security Income and Benefits Statement. A Social Security Income and Benefits statement must contain an official signature from a representative from the Social Security Administation. The signature can be a digital signature or an ink signature (hand signed).

Travel Consent Letter Apostille

Do you need to apostille on a Travel Consent Letter?

At International Apostille, we take the guesswork out of obtaining an apostille on your notarized travel consent letter. We can apostille travel consent letters notarized in all 50 States and the District of Columbia (Washington DC).

The purpose of signing a travel consent letter is to allow your minor child (Under 18 years old) to travel outside of the Country with another person (Example: Father, Mother, Grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, etc..). You can obtain a travel consent letter from the airline, travel agency, cruise ship, or you can find a sample online. Basically, the letter will State that you are giving permission to one or more people to take your minor child outside of the USA. The letter should include travel dates, your name, the name of the child or children, the person the child will travel with, the country the child will travel too, passport numbers, and the return date. You will want to put as much information as possible include airline information.

The travel consent letter will need to be signed and notarized by the person giving permission. Once the document has been notarized, it can then be mailed in to our office for processing. You will need to download our apostille order forms and mail in your original notarized document to our office for processing. We recommend that you find a notary who has at least five years of experience and one who will follow the notarial laws of their state. Improperly notarized travel consent letters will be rejected by the State causing delays and additional costs.
