Brooklyn – Brooklyn County Clerk
Manhattan – New York County Clerk
Queens – Queens County Clerk
Staten Island – Richmond County Clerk

For birth certificates issued outside NYC, contact the County Clerk’s office where your birth certificate was issued to obtain a certified copy. Exemplification letters are not needed for certificates outside NYC.
